Assassin’s Creed: Thoughts From The Animus

Anyone who knows me knows that Assassin’s Creed is my favourite franchise. The first game, Assassin’s Creed is the game that got me into gaming after a ~10 year hiatus. My friend recommended the game to me simply because of the premise: Scientists go through people’s memories to relive history. At the time of originally playing Assassin’s Creed I was about 4 months into a degree in Psychology with cognitive and memory psychology being the area I was most interested in. So my friend thought that a game based on the premise of genetic memories would be ideal for me. He was right.

Since the first day of playing, I’ve been in love with the franchise. So far I’ve attended midnight launches for Assassin’s Creed: Revelations, Assassin’s Creed III and most recently, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. I bought a PS Vita for the sole purpose of playing Assassin’s Creed: Liberation

I’ve just bought the Assassin’s Creed Heritage Collection in order to replay all the console games again. This got me thinking, this would be an excellent place to start off with a series of posts about what’s good, bad, the same and different throughout this franchise.

Starting with the first post about the beginning of Assassin’s Creed coming soon.
