50 Books in 2013 – January

Wow, it’s been a while since an update! And this one is completely not related in any way shape or form to games. (Well, there’s a slight tangible link later on…)

At the end of December, a friend of mine said that he would attempt to read 50 books in 2013, and me being the idiot that I am, agreed to do the same. Any books started in 2012 and completed in 2013 would not count towards this total of fifty, and any re-reads of books would not count either

This fifty books equates to 0.96 books/week or 4.6books/month.  As of today, I finished my sixth book, so I’m currently well ahead of schedule!

As I cannot effectively review/give my opinions on books other than “OMG. THISISTHEMOSTFANTASTICTHINGEVER!!!” or “UGH. HATE. HATE. HATE. HATE”, I’ll just provide links to reviews that I feel effectively convey my opinions (where applicable).

So what have I read?

What’s next?

To take a short break from reading lengthy, high-fantasy sagas, I’m going to read The Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy. Yes, I know it’s the start of a series, and yes, I know I’m a terrible person for not having read it yet.

After this, it’s time for Embassytown by China Mieville. I’m highly looking forward to this one.
